This policy describes how the digoMailCheck app for macOS handles your data. For the website, see the privacy notice.

Summary

digoMailCheck does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There is no developer account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Everything the app stores stays on your Mac.

What the app stores, and where

• Account settings (mail server, user name, watched folders, preferences) are stored locally in the app's sandbox container using macOS user defaults.
• Passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device. They are never written to a plain file and are never sent anywhere except to your own mail server to sign in.

Network connections

The app makes only two kinds of outbound connection:

• To the IMAP mail servers you configure, over TLS, to check for unread mail. It reads message envelope data (sender, subject, date, and read or unread status) solely to show the unread count and notifications. It does not store, forward, or transmit your mail anywhere else.
• To autoconfig.thunderbird.net, a public server-settings lookup run by Mozilla, only when you add an account, to suggest the correct IMAP host and port for your email domain. Only the domain part of your address is used for this lookup.

There are no other network connections, no third-party SDKs, and nothing is sent to the developer.

Data retention and deletion

Because all data lives on your device, you stay in control of it. Removing an account in the app deletes its stored settings and its Keychain password. Deleting the app removes its settings; a Keychain entry can also be removed with the Keychain Access utility.

Children

digoMailCheck is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
